Koh Courts Criticism With Sexed-Up Christ

GATESHEAD, England—The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art has received criticism for its latest exhibition, which includes an 18-inch sculpture by Terence Koh depicting Christ with an erection, the London Times reports.

The exhibition, "Gone, Yet Still," features 74 plaster models of people or objects that the gay, Chinese-born artist says have been important in his life, including depictions of the characters Mickey Mouse and ET in visibly aroused states.

The gallery has placed signs outside the exhibition warning visitors of its explicit nature, and has received four written and several verbal complaints from viewers who believe the representation of Jesus is offensive to Christians. The museum says it does not intend to remove the work.
