DALLAS—Los Angeles-based architect Thom Mayne will design the $155 million Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas, the Dallas Morning News reports. Selected unanimously over James Polshek, Shigeru Ban, and the Norwegian firm Snohetta, Mayne, a Pritzker prizewinner, will develop the 150,000-square-foot complex that will merge the Science Place, the Dallas Museum of Natural History, and the Dallas Children's Museum. His firm, Morphosis, known for complex and inventive designs, is currently working on the Tour Phare skyscraper in Paris. Construction on the Museum of Nature & Science is scheduled to begin next year; its opening is planned for 2013.
