MANCHESTER, N.H.—The Currier Museum of Art announced it will reopen with a public celebration on March 30, after four years of planning and almost two years of construction. The $21.4 million expansion added new galleries to display 50 percent more of the museum's art collections and special exhibitions; new educational facilities; a 180-seat auditorium; a new courtyard; a grand north entrance; and a sky-lit winter garden with a wall drawing the museum commissioned from Sol LeWitt to reflect mosaics from the original 1929 building. Admission to the museum will be free the week of the opening, with special events throughout the week.
