Duesseldorf Contemporary Art Fair Closes Its Doors

DUESSELDORF, Germany—Just a day after Art Cologne announced that it was doing away with its new sister fair on the Spanish island of Majorca, DC Duesseldorf Contemporary, which premiered last April, announced that it too was closing its doors, reports Bloomberg. The fair's organizers cited low sales, saying in a statement, "All indications are that art-market activity concentrates on a few art fairs with international and not just German significance." Organizers said they were exploring a consolidation with other fairs.
