SMoCA Receives Gift of 27 Sculptures

Scottsdale, Ariz.—The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art has received a gift of 27 sculptures by modern masters including Jean Arp, Anthony Caro, Mark di Suvero, Reuben Nakian, and Bernar Venet. Karla Goldschmidt donated the works, which were displayed at the museum in the fall 2007 exhibition "Good Form: The Goldschmidt Collection of (small-scale) sculpture." Goldschmidt amassed the collection with her late husband, Walter Goldschmidt, a founding board member of SMoCA. The museum also received fractional gifts of Robert Motherwell's Malta, 1982 and Blue Door, both from collectors Dorothy Lincoln-Smith and Harvey K. Smith.
