The London fashion designer turned art specialist Paul Reeves?who in the 1970s was responsible for dressing Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones?has teamed with Sotheby’s London this month to host the two-part event “The Best of British: Design from the 19th and 20th centuries.” Seventy pieces from Reeves’s private collection, which covers the U.K.’s major aesthetic movements from the 1840s through the 1960s, are on view March 14 through 20 in a selling exhibition. A separate auction of 120 items that Reeves solicited from such clients as Spandau Ballet front man Gary Kemp and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page follows on March 20. Among the standouts hitting the block is a circa 1870 Smallhythe table by E. W. Godwin (est. £30–50,000; $59–98,000). The showstopper, though, is The Quest of the Holy Grail: The Achievement, a 24-foot-long tapestry by Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones from Page’s collection. Woven in 1894, the work is expected to fetch £1 million ($1.96 million).
