ATHENS—Architect Renzo Piano has been chosen to design an opera house and cultural complex in Athens, reports the Agence France-Presse. The Niarchos Foundation is funding the $441 million project, which will erect a new national opera house, new national library, and cultural park on the site of a former racetrack that was replaced with a bus depot for the 2004 Olympics.
