BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.—“Art is not leisure; art is a utilitarian thing that people can use to find a way into their interior life,” Gagosian Gallery quotes Julian Schnabel in a press release for his latest exhibition, “Christ’s Last Day.” But eating, drinking, and being merry seemed the name of the game at a private dinner for the artist held February 21 at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. A cadre of stars showed up for the event, as well as the same evening’s opening of the exhibition, which runs through March 22.
Guests for the dinner included the designer Roberto Cavalli, the model Linda Evangelista, dealer Larry Gagosian, and from Hollywood, actors Matt Dillon, Lauren Hutton, and Tilda Swinton. And Nicky Hilton made an appearance at the Gagosian opening. Click on the photo gallery to the left to catch a glimpse of the festivities. |
