Biennial Blastoff

NEW YORK—The 2008 Whitney Biennial kicked off in a big way this week, with a series of private previews, parties, and opening events that drew an eclectic art-world crowd — many of whom took the opportunity to don their most outlandish outfits — and plenty of press eager to immortalize the occasions.

We spotted everyone from participating artists Agathe Snow and Fritz Haeg to designer Zac Posen.
