Painted in 1661–62, the painting hangs currently in the National Museum and is one of its primary attractions. "It has hung at the National Museum since 1866. That's where it's going to stay," says Olle Granath, secretary of the academy. The academy plans to use the money from the sale to fund exhibitions and other events. |
