Gonzalez-Foerster broke onto the French scene in the mid-1990s alongside artists Pierre Huyghe and Philippe Parreno. She is known for conceiving interactive environments that envelop viewers through the use of light and sound. In her recent work, Promenade (2007), she recreated the sounds of a tropical rainstorm. Unilever recently pledged an additional £2.1 million to continue the series at Turbine Hall until 2012. |
