Sure. There is a reference to curvilinear forms in Islamic painting, and then there is Marcel Duchamp’s paper-cutout self-portrait.
The lettering came off a wall in Mexico, itself probably derived from some French lettering, so there are three art-historical currents in it.

How do you decide which projects you’ll work on?

I only work with people I like. It’s like having dinner. I couldn’t have dinner with someone I didn’t like.
