Staedel Museum Receives Photographs from German Bank

FRANKFURT—DZ Bank Group has donated over 200 photographs, most of them from after 1980, to the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt, Bloomberg reports. Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Cindy Sherman are among the photographers represented in the gift. The museum and DZ Bank have established a company to own the photographs together, and the Staedel plans to build a DZ Bank Gallery during its 2010–11 expansion, which will primarily show photographs from the collection. The museum will also hold an exhibition of DZ Bank's photograph collection from June 18 to September 21.
