The four winners are Ei Arakawa, 31, a Japanese-born performance artist living in New York; Michael Patterson-Carver, 49, a Portland, Oregon-based artist who creates drawings of protests; Lauren Kelley, 32, an animation artist from Houston; and Michael Stickrod, 29, a filmmaker from New Haven. The winners were selected from among 64 nominees by a jury of artists Paul McCarthy, Cindy Sherman, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. The exhibition, on view from June 25 through October 12, will be organized by Massimiliano Gioni, director of special exhibitions at the New Museum. |
