Frank Gehry has designed a timber and glass pavilion to be temporarily installed in London's Hyde Park this summer. Set to open in July, the structure will be the ninth in a line of temporary cafes and events venues commissioned by the Serpentine Gallery.
Gehry said that the structure "acts as an urban street running from the park to the existing gallery," also noting that, "The pavilion is much like an amphitheater." Glass canopies hang from the structure to protect the interior from the weather. This will be his first building in England.
