The Tate Modern has commissioned a group of the world's most celebrated street artists to produce work for the building's Thames-side facade, reports the Guardian.
Each of the artists will have an area of about 40 by 50 feet for "Street Art at Tate Modern," which will run May through August. The artists include Blu, from Bologna, Italy; the photographer JR from Paris; Sixeart, from Barcelona; Os Gemeos, twin brothers from Sao Paulo; Nunca, who produces South American-inspired work; and the New York collective Faile.
Curator Cedar Lewisohn hopes the show will expand the public's view of street art: "There is more to street art than just the household name or two we know in this country," he said.
