TORONTO—The Ontario government will give a total of about $75 million (U.S. $73 million) to a number of arts organizations, the Toronto Star reports. The Art Gallery of Ontario, currently being redesigned by architect Frank Gehry, will receive $8.6 million, while the Royal Ontario Museum will get $12.1 million to work on sustainability. Luminato, a new arts and creativity festival that will hold its second edition in June, will receive $15 million to maximize long-term potential.

The bonuses are part of the 2007 fiscal year, which ended on March 31, rather than the 2008 budget. For the most part, they have not yet been announced, but details can be found on the cultural ministry's Web site. Other recipients include the Canadian Film Center and two libraries.
