Art Gallery of New South Wales Receives Art Worth $35 MillionBy ARTINFO

SYDNEY—Australian art collector and former chairman of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art John W. Kaldor will donate his contemporary art collection, worth about $35 million (U.S. $31 million), to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The gift is the largest donation to a public museum in Australian history. Artists represented in the collection of about 260 works include Jeff Koons, Robert Rauschenberg, Sol LeWitt, and Andreas Gursky. The donation will be housed in a new space called the John W. Kaldor Family Gallery for Contemporary Art.
