LIVERPOOL, England—Someone has vandalized a life-size topiary of the Beatles in Liverpool by chopping off Ringo Starr's head, reports the New York Times via the Liverpool Daily Post. The topiary foursome, created by Italian sculptor Franco Covill, was placed in the South Parkway train station a few weeks ago as part of a public art project celebrating Liverpool's status as a 2008 European Capital of Culture. Starr angered some of the city's residents when, after coming to kick off the Capital of Culture events in January, the famed drummer said he missed nothing about the city.
