NEW YORK—The
American Academy of Arts and Letters has announced its newly elected members and award winners. Eight new members will be inducted into the academy in a ceremony on May 21, among them artists
John Baldessari and
Usrula von Rydingsvard. More than fifty awards in art, architecture, literature, and music will also be presented at the ceremony. Winners include
Richard Meier for the gold medal in architecture,
Judith Jamison for the award for distinguished service to the arts, and
Charles Long for the award of merit medal for sculpture. A full list of winners is available on the Academy's
