Jeff Wall Awarded Audain Prize

VANCOUVER—Canadian artist Jeff Wall was awarded the Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement, British Columbia's largest annual award for the visual arts, reports the Vancouver Sun. A leading contemporary artist and native of Vancouver, Wall's solo museum exhibitions include shows at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Art Institute of Chicago; Art Tower Mito, Japan; and Tate Modern, London.

Wall will receive $30,000, while mid-career artists Tim Lee and Kevin Schmidt will each receive $12,000 as part of the VIVA awards, presented May 22 at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The gallery is the largest public holder of Wall's work, in part because of funding by the Audain Foundation.
