Travelers can sit at one of six touch-screen coffee tables, search a digital database, and select the picture they want to view. The database includes 100 paintings, among them works by Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Titian, Caravaggio, and Monet. After a painting is selected, it shows up on one of six free-standing plasma screens placed inside the brick archways of one of the lounge walls. "Now some of the most historic paintings in Britain can also be re-enjoyed and re-examined in a totally new way," said Simon Montague, Eurostar's communications director. |
