Yale Student Submits New Project to ShowBy ARTINFO

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Aliza Shvarts, the Yale University student who sparked controversy with a planned senior project in which she allegedly artificially inseminated herself several times, then used natural abortifacients to induce miscarriages, has submitted a different work to the senior thesis exhibition, the New York Times reports via the Yale Daily News. Shvarts had allegedly told the university administration that she had not in fact performed the described acts, but rather that the story itself was the artwork. The university said it would not allow her to show the work — which was to include various documentation of the purported acts — unless she admitted in writing that it was a fiction, but she declined to do so.
