Keith Haring Foundation Gives $1 Million to New MuseumBy ARTINFO
Published: May 9, 2008
Haring, who was known for his prolific involvement with educational community art projects, created work for the New Museum's collection during his residence in the Lower East Side in the 1980s. A neon-colored mural painted by Haring at the intersection of Bowery and Houston, near the site of the museum's new location, was also recently recreated. The gift was honored at a private remembrance celebration held at the museum on May 4th. |
