COLUMBUS, Ohio—After several years of uncertainty about its future, a collection of 200,000 works of comic art has found a permanent home at Ohio State University, reports the New York Times via the Associated Press. Founded in 1974 by the cartoonist Mort Walker, creator of "Beetle Bailey," in Greenwich, Conn., the International Museum of Cartoon Art later moved to Boca Raton, Fla., then closed in 2002 after going into debt. Ohio State's Cartoon Research Library stepped in after plans to move the museum's collection to Yale University or the Empire State Building did not come to fruition. The collection, which includes sketches, films, and figurines, including a Walt Disney storyboard for an early Mickey Mouse cartoon and original drawings for "Dick Tracy," is expected to go on display this summer.
