OSLO—Edvard Munch's The Scream, stolen four years ago from the Munch Museum in Oslo and recovered mysteriously in August 2006, has gone back on view at the museum, the New York Times reports via Agence France-Presse. The painting has been placed on display alongside Madonna, another Munch painting stolen at the same time, under the title "Scream and Madonna — Revisited," through September 26.

Both were scratched and torn and show signs of humidity damage, and after September 26, Madonna will undergo further restoration. The museum has also said that its Scream probably dates from 1910, as opposed to the original interpretation that it was done in 1893.
