SAN FRANCISCO— The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has announced the winners of the 2008 SECA Art Awards. Tauba Auerbach, Desirée Holman, Jordan Kantor, and Trevor Paglen will receive the biennial awards, which are are sponsored by the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art, an auxilary of SFMOMA, and honor local artists of "exceptional promise."

The award's recipients are featured in a group exhibition at the museum and an accompanying catalogue and each receive a cash prize. This year's honorees cover a range of media: Auerbach works in drawing, Holman in video, Kantor in painting and drawing, and Paglen in photography. Their exhibition will be on view at SFMOMA from February 14 through May 17, 2009.
