MARSEILLE, France— Four paintings stolen from the Museum of Fine Arts in Nice, France, last year have been found in a car in Marseille, reports the New York Times. On August 5, 2007, masked gunmen held museum visitors and staff hostage and took Claude Monet’s Cliffs Near Dieppe, Alfred Sisley’s Lane of Poplars at Moret-sur-Loing, and Jan Brueghel the Elder’s Allegory of Water and Allegory of Earth. More than ten people were arrested in connection with the theft.
