NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.— Pritzker Prize-winning architect Thom Mayne and his firm Morphosis will design the new home for the Orange County Museum of Art, reports the New York Times. The museum, which is currently located in Newport Beach, will move to a newly acquired piece of land at Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Morphosis will work with the museum over the next six months to create a design and budget for the new building, which is expected to break ground in 2013 and open by 2016. This will be Mayne's first art museum.
