VILNIUS, Lithuania—The Lithuanian government approved the construction of a $117-million museum in its capital, the city of Vilnius, reports the Agence France-Presse. Set to open in 2013, the museum is a joint project between Lithuania, the Guggenheim, and the State Hermitage Museum in Russia, and is being designed by architect Zaha Hadid. Gediminas Kirkilas, the country's prime minister, described the project as a move to attract tourists to Lithuania, with some officials hoping to draw 400,000 visitors a year.
