SANTA FE—Beyond its striated vistas and earth-toned adobe structures, northern New Mexico offers visitors visual pleasure this summer in the form of Art Santa Fe, from July 10 through 13. The 57 exhibitors include a host of local dealers but also span the globe, with offerings by Denmark’s Galleri Udengaard and New York’s Marlborough Gallery, which has, among other pieces, Botero watercolors, Picasso etchings and sculptures by Tom Otterness. Santa Fe’s Peyton Wrighthas paintings by American modernists Raymond Jonson and Clinton Adams, along with abstract works by Paul Burlin, who headed southwest from New York in 1913. Linda Durham Contemporary Art, also of Santa Fe, displays native talent, including James Havard?s Woman with Whirlygig Arms, 2006, while Charlotte Jackson, the fair’s organizer, has Jeremy Thomas?s steel sculpture GTX Red, 2007, and William Metcalf?s 2006 wall piece Black Satin Arc.
