Guggenheim Bilbao Plans New Branch

BILBAO, Spain—The Guggenheim Musuem in Bilbao, Spain, is planning to build a new branch on the city's outskirts, the New York Times reports. Financed by local officials, the satellite museum will be built in the countryside on a nature preserve. Juan Ignacío Vidarte, director general of the Guggenheim Bilbao, said that the new branch will combine art with the idea of environmental sustainability. He did not say who would design the building or when it would open.
