Emin Retrospective to Be R-Rated

EDINBURGH—Tracey Emin's first retrospective will have an age constraint, reports the Guardian. The show, "20 Years," will open at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh in August, and it will be restricted to visitors over 16 years of age. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Emin is famous for her highly personal, sometimes explicit multimedia works, such as Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995, a tent embroidered with names. Hers is not the first show at the Scottish gallery to carry a warning and age restriction: 2006's exhibition of Robert Mapplethorpe photographs had similar visitor guidelines, and last year's show "The Naked Portrait" warned, "Please note this show contains images of naked people."
