MIAMI—United States officials returned more than 60 looted artifacts to the Colombian government in Miami on Tuesday, reports the New York Times. The artifacts, which include gold and emeralds and date as far back as 500 B.C., were seized in 2005 from an Italian citizen, Ugo Bagnato, 66, who smuggled them into south Florida. The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida prosecuted Bagnato, who pleaded guilty to the sale and receipt of stolen goods. He served 17 months in prison before being deported.
