Published: July 15, 2008
An online auction of Shepard Fairey’s mixed-media work OBAMA HOPE (2008) is set to raise thousands of dollars for Russell Simmons’s Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which benefits New York City youth.

Fairey, an L.A.-based artist who emerged from the skateboard scene in the late 1980s, has created a series of posters in support of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. OBAMA HOPE, a 4×6 foot stencil collage, is a unique fine art version of one of those posters.

As of this writing, bidding for the work, which bears an estimated value of $30,000, was up to $60,000. The online auction runs through July 24. To make a bid, click here.
