SAO PAULO—São Paulo police have recovered a
Picasso print
stolen from the Pinacoteca de Estado museum last month and arrested a man in connection with the crime, the
New York Times reports via the Associated Press.
Wesley Teobaldo Barros, 30, was arrested as a suspect in the museum theft, along with two men who were under surveillance in a separate investigation and who mentioned the Picasso in a tapped phone conversation.
The Painter and the Model (1963) was found in perfect condition, but the three other works from the same heist — another Picasso print and two paintings by Brazilian artists — are still missing.
