LONDON—With London's contemporary galleries looking to add representatives of the growing Indian and Chinese art markets, Zurich and London's Hauser & Wirth has signed up Indian artist Bharti Kher, reports Bloomberg.

"One of our directors is working with her in India this week,'' according to Roger Tatley, the gallery's head of communications. "We're looking to build a long-term relationship.''

Kher, who is best known for her abstracts made of colored bindi beads, and whose 2007 painting Landscape (Triptych) sold for a record £198,500 ($397,000) at Phillips de Pury in London in April, joins Indian artist Subodh Gupta at the gallery. Her first show will take place in early 2010.
