"One of our directors is working with her in India this week,'' according to Roger Tatley, the gallery's head of communications. "We're looking to build a long-term relationship.'' Kher, who is best known for her abstracts made of colored bindi beads, and whose 2007 painting Landscape (Triptych) sold for a record £198,500 ($397,000) at Phillips de Pury in London in April, joins Indian artist Subodh Gupta at the gallery. Her first show will take place in early 2010. |
