SOUTHAMPTON/NEW YORK—The trend of summer benefits and celebrations continued last week with two glam events that boasted multimedia programs and multi-genre guest lists.

Robert Wilson's theater-focused Watermill Center in Southampton held its 15th annual summer benefit on Saturday, July 26. As always, the event was a premier social affair for art lovers and Hamptons partygoers. The evening kicked off at 6 pm with cocktails, followed by a live auction hosted by Simon de Pury, guest performances, dinner, and dancing. German artist Jonathan Meese created an installation, Marlene Dietrich in Dr. No's Ludvico-Clinic (Dr. Baby's Erzland), for the occasion, whose guests included actress Kim Cattrall, rock legend Roger Waters, radio personality Howard Stern, singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and artists Dennis Oppenheim and Marina Abramovic.

A few days before, in Chelsea, 303 Gallery got down with a 25th anniversary summer celebration. The Wednesday night, July 23, party marked the gallery's expansion into a new 5,000-square-foot space on 21st Street and included a performance by indie rock band The Virgins,  a DJ set by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, wall projections chosen by Mary Heilmann, and shortbread cookies baked by artist Karen Kilimnik. Actress Kirsten Dunst, artists Dan Graham and Marilyn Minter, and photographer Toddy Selby were among the revelers.
