LOS ANGELES—The California Cultural and Historical Endowment has approved a $1.9 million grant to complete the restoration of the
Hollyhock House at
Barnsdall Art Park, the
Los Angeles Times reports. The house was designed by
Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1921. It was damaged in the 1994 Northright earthquake, after which the Federal Emergency Management Agency provided money for initial seismic repairs that were finished in 2005. New work will include seismic retrofitting and the creation of a "museum-quality gallery and design space," according to L.A. City Council president
Eric Garcetti. Officials expect the work to be done by June 2012.
