TORONTO—A garage may not seem like a good place for a $15,000 bronze sculpture, but that's where Misha Frid's The Centaur was found two days ago. Police recovered the Canadian artist's sculpture in one of several Toronto garages rented by alleged bicycle thief Igor Kenk, reports the Toronto Star.
The 25-inch work, which Frid had given to his son as a Christmas present 10 years ago, went missing from his son's property within the past few weeks. Kenk, 49, faces 58 charges, mostly related to bicycle theft and drug offenses; so far, police have recovered 2,700 bikes after searching 12 locations. Frid said that his 40-year-old son rides a bike but that he was unsure if he had ever bought one from Kenk. |
