TRURO, Mass.—Residents of Truro, near the tip of Cape Cod, are seeking to preserve the scenery enjoyed by Edward Hopper. The local Zoning Board of Appeals has filed a ruling that upholds a permit allowing Donald and Andrea Kline to build a 6,500-square-foot house next to the property once held by Hopper and his wife, Josephine, reports the New York Times. Neighbors fear that the new house will destroy the open view that may have inspired Hopper's paintings. Bennet Heart, a lawyer for the neighbors, told the Cape Cod Times that his clients had not yet decided whether to challenge the zoning board's decision.
