BERLIN— In the wake of an act of vandalism last month, Berlin's memorial for homosexual victims of the Nazi regime will be extended security service similar to that of the neighboring Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, reports Artforum via the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset's memorial consists of a video depicting a homosexual couple kissing, housed within a concrete structure similar to those making up Peter Eisenman's larger Jewish memorial. Theirs has been vandalized just once since it opened last May; Eisenman's has been harmed 15 times since its 2005 inauguration. Security patrols will now make the rounds on both sites.
