TORONTO—
Tim Lee, a Vancouver artist whose work combines sculpture, text, video, and photography, has won the 2008
Sobey Art Award, the
Toronto Star reports. The $50,000 (U.S. $46,400) prize is given annually to a Canadian artist under 40. Lee's work, along with the work of the four other
shortlisted artists — among them the controversial
Terence Koh — is on view at the
Royal Ontario Museum until October 13.
