Newsmaker: New London Gallerists on Navigating the Recession

LONDON—With notable expansions and several new galleries opening this month, London’s art world seems to be oblivious of the impending global financial crisis. The two highest-profile debuts belong to Paris/New York dealers Yvon Lambert and the brand new Pilar Corrias gallery, both of which open London spaces on October 16, just in time for the media spotlight and influx of collectors that the Frieze Art Fair brings.

ARTINFO caught up with the key people behind both the new additions — Olivier Belot, director general of Yvon Lambert, and Pilar Corrias, a former director at both Lisson and Haunch of Venison galleries — to ask them about the London market and surviving the recession.
