Hottest Paris Dance Club Caters to Kids Only

PARIS—The hottest new dance club in Paris has a strict age requirement: If you're older than 7, don't expect to get past this velvet rope. Carine Charaire and Olivier Casamayou's Babydisco, an installation in the middle of the Palais de Tokyo contemporary art museum, is designed to introduce children ages 3 to 7 to the creative aspects of dance, music and video. It has kids clamoring to get in, the New York Times reports.

"It is rather startling to see how adult behavior is almost innately imitated by the children enthusiastically lining up and checking their names on a list to gain entry into a dance party inside what is actually a plywood box about the size of a minivan," the Times writes. "One little boy was dancing madly while sloshing his drink about in a sippy cup. Perhaps he was making a statement about the absurdity of modern glamour culture."

The posh, pint-size clothing line Little Marc Jacobs is a sponsor for the installation, and the hot Parisian retailer Colette will host a dance class there on October 11.
