Between the Poles / Salem & NYC

By Kolby Yarnell

Published: September 1, 2008
Salem & NYC—We love tales of early polar explorations, especially the catastrophic ones, so this fall’s show at the Peabody Essex, with 50 atmospheric and haunting works by artist-explorers is a must. For modern context, add the American Museum of Natural History’s “Climate Change,” and learn about our scientific explorations’ catastrophic effect on those same poor poles.
