SEOUL—American artist Cameron Jamie has won the first annual Yanghyun Prize, Artforum reports. The prize, created by the Yanghyun Foundation, is the first of its kind in Korea — an international art award without form, genre, or nationality restrictions. It includes a monetary award of $100,000.

This year's jury, which includes the Museum Ludwig's Kasper König and the Museum of Modern Art's Kathy Halbreich, said of Jamie: "He is something of an archaeologist, mining out superheroes and broken histories to locate our human connection." The jury will rotate every three years.

Jamie had his first U.S. solo museum exhibition at the Walker Art Center in 2006, where Halbreich was director at the time.
