Artists are nominated by a committee comprised of scholars, critics, museum professionals, artists, and former grantees. The winners are then selected by an independent selection committee, which this year comprised gallerist Lia Gangitano, collector Susan Hort, the New Museum's Massimiliano Gioni, White Columns' Matthew Higgs, and the Whitney Museum's Gary Murayari.

An art crawl and cocktail party will take place on Saturday, November 8, to present the grantees to the foundation's audience. Foundation director Quang Bao said the organization hopes to raise enough money to award 10 yearly grants in the future.
