What’s a rapping superstar to do after producing hits, recording with his own band, branding sportswear and designing accessories for Louis Vuitton? Pharrell Williams, below, is now creating limited-edition furniture with Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin and the French manufacturer Domeau & Pérès. The first exhibition of the work, at Perrotin’s Paris headquarters through January 10, features a mighty provocative chair with a molded plastic seat. Pharrell says of his inspiration for the piece, right, “I wanted to know what it was like to be in love.” Lust is more like it—the chair’s supports suggest male and female legs performing an act that’s, ahem, more hip-hop than Arts & Crafts.
