The International FinePrint Dealers Association?s NewYork fair, whose 18th installment isbeing held October 30 throughNovember 2, is the anchor for morethan 50 Print Week events. It featuresan astonishing selection ofmaterial from 89 exhibitors. RareAmerican, European and Japaneseclassics are presented alongsidefresh works brought by some 30 publishersand contemporary dealers.Among the latter is the Bay Shore,New York, workshop UniversalLimited Art Editions, which is featuringa print, priced at $25,000,from the 12-image “Lotus” seriesthat Robert Rauschenberg madejust before his death this past May. Anumber of this year’s participants arehighlighting artists showcased in thecity’s major museums. For example,London’s Redfern Gallery has grittylinocuts by Sybil Andrews and CyrilPower, whom the firm championed inthe 1920s and whose work is in aBritish prints show at New York’sMetropolitan Museum of Art throughDecember 7.
